Blennerhassett Island is open to the public from Spring to Autumn. There are many events there throughout the season, the highlight being the Candlelight Tour. This tour features period characterization by the Friends of Blennerhassett on the island and in the mansion, depicting the Christmas season of the era.

Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival

West Virginia Interstate Fair & Exposition

This annual fair in July displays 4-H exhibits, contests, professional entertainment, track events, livestock exhibits, a carnival, a tremendous amount of food (can you say "funnel cakes"?) and much more for the entire family.

Harvest Moon Arts & Crafts Festival

The festival is held every September and boasts quality food, entertainment and approximately 200 booths displaying wares from local and regional artists and craftsmen.

Parkersburg Homecoming Festival

This festival takes place every third Friday of August through Sunday. Local residents entertain and compete in contests. Other attractions include a parade down Market Street, headliner music groups and singers, lots and lots of food and one of the largest fireworks displays in the area.

West Virginia Honey Festival

This September festival seeks to educate the public on beekeeping, honey and the uses of honey. Activities include baking contest and auction, entertainment, concessions, arts and crafts and a beard of live bees (no kidding!).
